Torre a destra 2004

The years 2004 was characterized by heavy rains during the Winter and Spring, followed by a regular Summer.

The Harvest is started the first week of October and it was facilitate by great range-thermal between night and day (about 13°-15°C). It improved the aromatic evolution and it has given to the wine more quantity of grape flavours. Fermentation lasted for a period of 20 days with daily pumping-over, taking extremely care of acidity and temperature. After drawing off and after the malolactic  fermentation, we put half of the wine in barriques (half of them new, half of them one year old).
The other part of the wine was placed in French oak casks of 30 and 50 hectolitres.

The wine rested in wood for a period of 20 month. We bottled in the month of July 2006. We produced 13.000 bottles of “Chianti Classico Riserva “Torre a Destra 2004”.


Colour: deep ruby red.

Fragrance: complex, intense,
with sweet spicy notes (cacao),
witch do not over taste the
great fruit expression.

Taste: Full bodied with sweet,
pleasant tannins,
persistent and elegant.


Blending: Sangiovese 100%

Alcohol: 14.15% vol.

Volatile Acidity: 0.54 gr/l

Total Acidity: 5.13 gr/l

Dry extract: 30.0 gr/l
